“Café con mucha cultura, por favor”

Have you traveled to Latinoamérica? Ever been to Costa Rica or maybe México? You walk around the city or nearby “pueblos” and are immediately overwhelmed with how beautiful and colorful your surroundings are. Costa Rica, having visited about two years ago, I still can’t forget how tropical and green the area was. It felt as one of the most peaceful countries I had ever visited.

Last week, a colleague of mine invited me to a coffee shop in Alhambra (East of Los Ángeles). Holy Grounds Coffee & Tea. As I arrived (it was Friday morning) he said to me, “you’re going to love this place Jo, it’s so you”.

Yup, he was 100 percent right.

El café estaba rico, pero fue el lugar del que me enamoré.

All I heard was the sound of the water fountain… and silence. No sign of city life.

The chairs and tables reminded me of my grandmother’s house in Jocotepec, Jalisco México. So warm and inviting.

Before I left the spot, I took a few pictures. Below is what I snapped.
